How to look for movies smartly

Post by leomjj » Sun Nov 27, 2016 12:56 am

Hi everybody
I just registered to this forum and I hope to be able to find all that I need in order to make my experience great with movienizer.
I'm facing a dilemma already though. I have about 700 movies I want to add to my list however I have cataloged (renamed) each file in the following way:
name of the movie (year of the movie).avi (or any other extension) so something like Avatar (2009).avi
Once I start the research in order to find the film info, unfortunately the script is not able to cut off itself the year (2009) and so it asks me for each file what the right name is. I have to delete the year from the file name in order to find it then. Is there any automatic way to do this? is there perhaps a script I can personalize to instruct the software in cutting off anything that starts with ( and ends with )? I would rather not to do manually for 700 films :/
Thank you for your help in advance and I hope I posted in the right section
